In the Windows world copy and paste can be performed naturally, but in the Internet world there's no infrastructure for it yet. Live Clipboard is an attempt to build such an infrastructure.
Live Clipboard makes it possible to exchange data from one website to another. As an example, let's say you have two email accounts - one from your college and one from Windows Live Mail. Wouldn't it be convenient if you can copy a contact from your Windows Live Mail account and paste it to your college email account? With Live Clipboard, you can do just that.
Here's a simple Live Clipboard demo, as a proof of concept:
1. Go to Live Clipboard Example page, right click on an hCard icon
and select Copy. Think of this as a contact from your college email account.
2. Right click on a blue line below and select Paste. Think of this as your Windows Live Mail account.
Of course Copy and Paste can be performed in the opposite direction, from Windows Live Mail account to college email account. If you're a developer you are probably wondering how it works under the cover. If so, proceed here...
